Halloween 2009

Halloween was fun this year. Alli went as Little Red Riding Hood and Hannah dressed as a sailor with her friends! Zach went as a nerd... he avoided the camera!

Gymnastics Meet 10-24-09

Alli had a gymnastics meet yesterday and did the best she's ever done! 1st in 2 events and also all-around! She didn't dismount on the beam as she wanted to and wished her handspring at the end of the floor routine had been better, but this gives you an idea of what she does in gymnastics. The other events were uneven bars and vault.

Victory Line 10-16-09

Highland Girls joined the high school HighSteppers on Victory Line for a TWHS game. There are 60-70 Highland Girls and nearly twice as many HighSteppers, so there was a lot of girls! Alli had a great time!

Here's Hannah, adding trumpet to the Reynolds band! Trumpet, flute, french horn... hmmm I feel a song coming on!

Alli's first Highland Girl performance! They did a routine between 2 football games that evening.

Here are some pictures of one of Alli's Highland Girls uniforms. She's lucky... this year they ordered all new uniforms! The vest and the skirt are reversible.

Hannah's 11th birthday!

Hannah chose to go to BeniHana for her dinner on her 11th birthday. It's always a fun place to go! Her birthday was the first day of school, August 24th. Now that we've made it through the first week, we'll plan her party!

Zach's braces

Here's Zach in his usual position on the couch doing what he loves most -- playing Xbox. Zach got braces earlier this month... I'm sure he loves that I'm putting these pictures on our webpage! So far so good with them. They say he'll only have them for 14 mos.

Hannah's newly painted room

Hannah's been wanting her room painted for a LONG time and we finally got around to doing it! She choose the 'Spa Pool' color. Still have to put things back on the wall, but she's loving it.

Highland Girls Camp Aug 09

Here are some pictures from Alli's Highland Girls Camp which lasted 2 weeks in August before school started. It's hard work and quite a commitment, but she's really enjoying it. There are 68 girls this year. They have several different routines that they perform at pep rallies, football and basketball games, and for competition. At this point, they have been learning and working on routines for pep rallies and football. To perform each routine, the girls must try out and make the team for each routine. You don't perform if you don't make the team for that particular routine, so some girls may perform when doing one routine but not the other. Makes the girls work hard and be proud when performing, but you also question whether it's just too much pressure for 12-13 year-old girls! Alli was nervous during camp, but she's handling it all quite well now.
